Edward Burtynsky's Manufactured Landscapes
I recently saw this documentary, Manufactured Landscapes, about Edward Burtynsky's photography of our industrialized human impact on the globe. As a designer that sends print and other packaging jobs to China, I was intrigued by the scale and impact that manufacturing plants have. Eye opening for sure. I really dig the way he designs his shots. Check out the documentary and his website!

I feel fortunate, blessed and lucky to have had the opportunity to work for iiiDESiGN. Thanks especially to Missy and Wyatt for being great design mentors. Just in case you wanted to keep tabs on me I thought I would blog my own blog. It is absolutely my dirty little junk design secret. Right out of the box, not altered or anything, but at least i update it once or twice a week. Maybe now that I have more time on my hands I'll figure out how to customize it. Love you all! Learn Foreign Languages with the Fuwa!
Prepare for the Summer Olympics with the Fuwa (the olympic "friendlies" mascots) by learning some key phrases that will enhance your Olympic conversation skills. Phrases such as: "She is in good shape," "You are a very precise person," and "I feel like I've met him before" all ad to your Olympic vocabulary prowess. Learn to say them in Putonghua, English, and French!

When Sparks Fly
These tutorials, posted by Smashing Magazine, lit the way on how to apply creative Adobe Photoshop lighting effects. I followed these tutorials and sure enough, sparks were flying. I fell in love with the techniques and found the tutorials to be clearly written and easy to follow. Glows, sparks, glimmering effects, motion trails, long exposure photography effects, rainbows, and other lighting effects really add ambience, an extra design element and creative flare to images! Artists like Chuck Anderson, have really taken these effects to the next level, creating some impressive pieces.
