CASE STUDY: BRANDING & PACKAGING

CLIENT:   hellomellow’s product line was born out of a dissatisfaction with massage oils, butters and lotions available on the current market. As a massage therapist, the owner and creator of hellomellow was continually put-off by products that claimed to be “all natural” but fell short. The need for an eye catching brand and smart packaging lead hellomellow to ( iii ) DESIGN.

PROJECT:   The client needed a friendly, calming, modern and professional mark that would carry the ideals of a holistic company across an extensive product line. While a logo can make a single impression, a full brand identity can support multiple scents and products successfully. A highly creative design team was needed to help with everything from naming exercises to corporate identity to package design to Web design. ( iii ) DESIGN was involved in the process from the beginning and helped in all areas of development.

RESULTS:   By coming up with an expandable colour palette and flexible neutral base colour, ( iii ) DESIGN was able to establish the brand’s quality and professionalism as well as convey the difference in scents and product properties. The design team wanted to keep the line completely expandable which would allow for new products and scents to be added as the company continues to make an impact in the health and wellness industry.

UPDATE:   Since its initial brand launch in Fall 2007, ( iii ) DESIGN has helped hellomellow release an upgraded version of its eCommerce Web site and assisted with package design for two new scents and four new products.
